Did you know that there is no requirement for overflows to be installed in bathroom fixtures? but if there is one in the fixture "then the waste shall be so arranged so that the standing water in the fixture cannot rise in the overflow when the stopper is closed or remain in the overflow when the fixture is empty". The overflow pipe from a fixture shall be connected on the house side or inlet side of the trap. Except toilets and urinal may drain into the bowls.

I just hope they have a floor drain in the same room.
